Total Lunar Eclipse December 21, 2010
Taken from Smyrna, Delaware. I used a Canon 40D, 2.5 second exposure, f/5.6 at ISO 800, through a Canon 100-400mm L lens at 400mm fl. The camera was "piggybacked" on the Celestron C8 telescope for tracking during the exposure.
Camera setting details: Mirror lockup enabled. Shutter release timer set to 12 seconds to allow vibrations from mirror lockup to die down. High ISO noise reduction set to auto. Telescope polar aligned to track as accurately as possible.
